Trip Styles

Original trip style.A Global Drift “Original” itinerary is a journey which is generally hands on and interactive.  We plan to take in a wide variety of sites and locations, where possible sharing the experience with our local friends.  We are always on the lookout for a local festival, wedding and basically any kind of event where we can savour the joys of living local.  The tours are mostly about experiencing the location rather than merely observing.  We may ride camels, paddle tribal canoes and even share meals with local families.

Our accommodation is generally reflective of the character and flavour of the region.  We stay in small hotels, local family run guesthouses even the occasional village on certain trips.  Accommodation standard is generally around 3 stars although we are occasionally we will lodge in a local homestay.

Group Size Maximum 12 (generally a minimum of 4-5 to depart) *Family tour group size is generally higher than 12 depending on location and adult/child ratios
Guide Global Drift tour leader accompanies every tour.
Accommodation Small hotels, guesthouses and family homestays all with location and character in mind.
Transport A wide range using train and bus, some local, some chartered.  We also like to get on the water and jump onto a bullock cart if at all possible.
Activities We structure a balance of organised sightseeing and visits as well as ample free time for exploration alone or with your travel mates.
Single Travellers Will share with a fellow traveller of the same gender.  (On some tours a single supplement is available).

Original trip style.For those of you that crave a little extra comfort at the end of the day.  Our "First Class" journeys plan to help you experience all of the fun and adventure our destinations can provide.  The transport is more often chartered rather than local and your accommodation is generally a higher standard.  We stay in beautiful historic hotels and Haveli, exotic lodges and stunning waterside bungalows.  The focus is on a taste of luxury but the plan is to stay in culturally significant locations reflective of the architecture and design of the region.

The tours do not compromise on the freedom and fun of an experience that you will enjoy, up close and personal, on our adventures.

Group Size Maximum 15 (generally a minimum of 4-5 to depart)
Guide Global Drift tour leader accompanies every tour.
Accommodation Classic hotels, stylish resorts and well appointed bungalows.  Some tours may delight in the pleasure of a farm or homestay at comfortable and culturally significant locations
Transport We will use trains, planes and automobiles!  Boat travel is something of a favourite for us where applicable.  We generally use our own privately chartered bus for road travel.  Having said that travel by local beast or rickety horsecart can be a fun and adventurous way to explore
Activities We include most of your sightseeing as well as quite a few local meals.  There will still be time for your own interests and advice and assistance to wander into your own adventure will always be available 
Single Travellers A single supplement is available at an additional cost and will be noted in your trip information

Original trip style.Our “Escape” adventures are for those wishing to relax or rejuvenate at the beginning or end of your journey.  They are short stay packages designed that are non guided.  They are generally inclusive of all transport and accommodation which enables you to find yourself in a hammock or on the beach or somewhere out of touch with the hustle and bustle of city life.

There are limited inclusions but you will have a choice of the style and standard of accommodation on offer.

Group Size Minimum 1-2 travellers
Guide An Independent adventure.  You will have assistance in your arrangements and transfers but the tour will be non guided.
Accommodation Choices are available between simple beach accommodation and luxury resort style depending on your needs.
Transport Included in your cost will be your transfer to the location be it by plane or train or private vehicle.  Transfers to your accommodation will also be included.
Activities The choice will be yours.  Our “Escape” packages are designed around relaxation and beautifully tranquil locations, however there is always plenty to do.  Read a book in your hammock or get on a bike and explore the area.  Escape!
Single Travellers Our price is based on 2 persons travelling.  Single travellers will pay a supplement
